Simple, chocolate, and hot, hot, hot! These are the perfect passionate wrap up to any meal. Yum, yum, ouch!

Ingredients:

3 oz of unsweetened chocolate - preferably Belgian
1/3 cup of butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs well-beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
An 8 x 8 x 2 inch greased pan

Frostings - optional

Butter
1/4 cup soft butter
1 1/4 cup of sifted confectioners' sugar
pinch of salt
Milk as needed
3/4 teaspoon of vanilla
1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)

Mix butter, sugar, and pinch of salt together. Splash in milk until you reach a spreading texture. Finish with vanilla (and cayenne pepper) and mix well.

Chocolate
1/4 cup soft butter
1 1/4 cup of sifted confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa - sift with confectioners' sugar
pinch of salt
hot water as needed
3/4 teaspoon of vanilla
1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)

Sift confectioners' sugar and cocoa. Mix with butter and pinch of salt. Splash in hot water until you reach a spreading texture. Finish with vanilla (and cayenne pepper) and mix well.

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler and set aside.

Combine the sugar and the well-beaten eggs together, and combine with the melted chocolate and butter mixture.

In a separate bowl, sift the flour, measure - add the baking powder, salt, cayenne, and cinnamon and sift again.

Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and finish by adding the vanilla. Spread into the greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes - or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool for 45 minutes. Frost and serve.
